Must Reading

We believe  that the Bible is the infallible Word of God, inspired by the Holy Spirit as a revelation of God to mankind.  It is the rule and authority by which faith effectively works in love.  And though superior to conscience and logic, it is not contrary to reason.  (2 Timothy 3:15-16; 2 Peter 1:20-21, 1 Peter 2:2)

We believe  that there is one God, existing eternally in three persons: God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit.  (John 10:30, John 14:26, Philippians 2:5-7)

We believe  that God is Love; that He loves all people; and that it is His yearning desire to reach out to those who are poor, oppressed, widowed or orphaned, and to heal the brokenhearted.  (Psalm 68:5-6, Luke 4:18-19, 1 John 4:16)

We believe  that man was created good and upright, for God said "Let us make man in our image, after our likeness." But man, by voluntary transgression, fell into a spiritually dead state of sin from which his only hope of redemption is through a living, personal relationship with Jesus Christ the Son of God (Genesis 1:26-31: Genesis 3:1-7; 1 Timothy 2:5, Romans 5:12-21)

We believe  we are able to have a personal relationship with God by His grace which provides for eternal salvation, God's free gift to man. It is not a result of what we do.  It is only available through God's unearned favor when we admit we have sinned; and believing in the death, burial and resurrection of Christ; accept Jesus as Savior and follow Him as Lord.  (Ephesians 2:8-9, Romans 5:1, Romans 3:24, John 14:6, John 14:15, John 8:31-32)

We believe  that the inward evidence to the believer of his salvation is the direct witness of the Holy Spirit.  (Romans 8:16, I Corinthians 2:12)

We believe  that the outward evidence of the believer to God and other men of his salvation is a life of righteousness and true holiness displayed in selfless, unconditional love toward both God and men.  (Romans 6:11-14, Mathew 25:35-40, 1John 4:20-21)

We believe  that Christ gace two ordinances to the local church which give witness to the death, resurrection, and pre-imminence of Jesus Christ and our identification with Him by faith.

1.      We believe, teach, and practice water baptism as taught and demonstrated by Jesus.  That it is the way for believers to identify with the death, burial and resurrection of Christ.  And that it is a public act of obedience, honor, and love; outwardly expressed to Him personally.  (Matthew 28:19, Romans 6:4, Matthew 3:13-17, John 14:21)

2.      We believe, teach, and practice The Lord's Supper to remain consciously aware of His sacrificial love; to appropriately judge our own lives in the light of His example; and to show the sacrificial redeeming death of the Lord until His return.  (Luke 22:19-20, 1 Corinthians 11:24-25)

We believe  that the infilling fullness of the Holy Spirit is a gift from God which all believers are entitled to, and which all should earnestly seek as the baptism in the Holy Ghost according to the commandment of our Lord Jesus Christ.  (Matthew 3:11, Luke 24:29; Acts 1:4; 1:8; 1 Corinthians 12:1-31; Acts 10:44-46; 11:14-16; 15:7-9)

We believe  that God gives all believers spiritual gifts. They are for the strengthening of God's people (the Church) and proof of God's existence and power to unbelievers. The gifts of the Spirit are active and relevant today.  (1 Corinthians 12:4-11, 1 Peter 4:10)

We believe  that Sanctification is the ongoing process of allowing God's character of holiness to be developed in us as we willingly pursue our obedience to His Word, to love others, live the life of holiness taught by the Scriptures, and allow the Holy Spirit to sanctify us in the truth; body, soul, and spirit.  (Romans 6:19, Galatians 5:22-25, Hebrews 12:14; 1 Peter 1:15-16; 1 Thessalonians 5:23-24; 1 John 2:6).

We believe  that divine healing is active in the lives of people today.  Jesus is the Healer; the same yesterday, today, and forever.  Deliverance from sickness is provided for in His atonement; paid for with His blood; and is the privilege of all believers.  It includes physical, mental, emotional and spiritual restoration received by faith; first to glorify the Father and Son; and after, for our benefit. (Isaiah 53:4-5, Hebrews 13:8, Matthew 8:16-17, Luke 9:11, Matthew 9:35, Acts 10:38, Matthew 10:1, Jeremiah 45:5, Colossians 3:23)

We believe in the hell described in the Bible as a real place of suffering and permanent separation from God for those who die without accepting Christ.  Hell was and is a place prepared for the devil and his angels; not man.  God's desire is that no man be separated from Him for eternity.  That is why, in His great love for us, He sent His Son Jesus Christ to earth to redeem us from sin and hell by the love act of the cross.  (Matthew 25:41, Hebrews 9:27, Revelations 20:12-15, John 3:16-18)

We believe in the imminent, glorious return of Jesus Christ to the earth to receive His Church, (all those who have accepted Him as Savior and followed Him in love as Lord); to live in heaven with Him for eternity. (Acts 1:11, Thessalonians 4:13-17, Hebrews 9:28)
